As we have both taught early childhood classes, we are aware of the incredible amount of time it takes to prepare any extra activities to go along with your classroom materials. We decided that we could save you some time by creating ready-made activities to supplement your classroom units. We have many different theme books, and a lot of patterns for art activities. We hope what we have spent our time doing will be helpful to you! Again, let us do the work so you don’t have to!
We are a mother-daughter team. Our names are Brenda Wilson and Lorane Willyerd. We have both been teachers in the public schools, Brenda in Idaho, and Lorane in Utah, Virginia, and Washington state. Brenda is retired after 20 years of teaching, and Lorane is now a stay at home mom to three girls.
Meet the Team
There are only two of us on our team right now. We’ve both been teachers, so we know what would help save your valuable time.
Brenda received her education at Utah State University with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Children’s Literature. She is retired after 20 years of teaching, both in the primary and intermediate grades. She took time off teaching to raise seven children, five daughters and two sons. She lives on a farm in rural Idaho, and uses her time to create for Rainy Day Learning. Brenda has written the poems and songs sung to familiar tunes for our theme books.
Lorane Wilson Willyerd
Lorane got her education at Utah State University, where she majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Art. She is the mother of three daughters, ages 5, 9 and 12. She has taught Kindergarten, First and Second grades, but is now a stay at home mom. While living in Washington, she was the art docent at her girls’ school. Her art work is featured in our theme books. After living in Utah, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington state, she now lives back in Maryland.
